LAGOS TO SANCTION PRIVATE SCHOOLS OVER EXAM MALPRACTISE.

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Oluranti Adebule, has expressed the state government’s displeasure towards private schools that engage in examination malpractice, saying government will not hesitate to sanction such schools.
Speaking at a meeting with proprietors of private schools in the state, the Deputy Governor, who doubles as the Commissioner of Education, revealed that about 25 schools have been indicted by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, and the National Examinations Council, NECO.
The Deputy Governor also revealed that a census of private schools to know the actual number of schools is underway as some schools owners only come for name search and thereafter start operating without completing the process.
Adding that the issue of multiple taxation and high levies will be looked into and communicated to them, Adebule advised school owners to engage professionals to run their schools so as avoid being shut down by government.
