Reports of music stars dating their managers are not new. In the past Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz denied their relationship and most recently reports have surfaced that Wizkid and his manager Jada P are in a relationship.
In this new interview with Naij.com, she also talks about keeping up with her male colleagues and recent endorsement deals.
See excerpts below.
On dating her manager: Male Managers no be human being? The managers are there to take care of the careers. But seriously, if I had a female manager would you be asking me all these?
On being a Nairabox ambassador: I’m happy. Being a Nairabox Ambassador doesn’t hurt anybody, so why would I say no. It’s a cool trend. I like to be part of trend setting people, so that’s one of the reasons I accepted the deal.
On keeping up with male entertainers: The pressure is there because I have to keep up with what my male counterparts are doing. It’s also tough and challenging because in African the women are always looked down upon. There’s a lot of physical and psychological issues that we tackle as African female artistes whether you are A’ List or Z list. Well, I have chosen to on God’s list.
On attending the BET Awards: BET is a big award ceremony and African categories had just 6. We all know that in Nigeria alone, we have over 15 popular artistes that are doing well- both male and female. Then in the whole Africa, I was picked amongst the first 6 in three different categories- year after year which means that i’m doing something very good. I didn’t come back dry. I was next to Beyonce and her likes.
On her 2.5million BET dress: Do you want to buy it from me? Well, you can check it out yourself. Check the designer out. You don’t need to hear from me to confirm it. Just go online and see things for yourself.

WHITE HOUSE LABELS BLACK LIVES MATTER A 'TERROR' GROUP IN RESPONSE TO PETITION

After days of violence and heightened racial tensions in the U.S., the White House responded this week to an online petition asking the federal government to formally label the Black Lives Matter movement as a "terror group."

Terrorism is defined as 'the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims.  The petition "We The People"  created July 6 on the White House website was said to have the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations.

Because the online document received at least 100,000 signatures -- at the time of this reporting, it had garnered over 141,000 names -- the White House was automatically prompted to respond.

The White House then went further to say: "Acknowledging that it was a "difficult time" for the country -- and that the debate remains a "charged" one -- the statement additionally prompted petition signers to consider President Obama's words calling for compassion towards the movement.
"I think it's important for us to also understand that the phrase 'black lives matter' simply refers to the notion that there's a specific vulnerability for African Americans that needs to be addressed," the president said last week, talking to a Washington, D.C. gathering of enforcement officials, civil rights leaders, elected officials and other activists on the issue of racial disparities in the criminal justice system. "We shouldn't get too caught up in this notion that somehow people who are asking for fair treatment are somehow, automatically, anti-police, are trying to only look out for black lives as opposed to others. I think we have to be careful about playing that game."

The public voices have therefore stated that the movement began as a call to end violence and that call remains.

THE TWIN GIRLS WHO WERE BORN HOLDING HANDS ARE ALL GROW UP!

;;

On Mother’s Day 2014, Sarah Thistlethwaite gave birth to twins by Caesarean section after a high-risk pregnancy. Jenna and Jillian Thistlethwaite were born clutching each other, holding hands in one of the cutest moments ever.

Jenna and Jillian were monoamniotic twins, which means they shared an amniotic sac in the womb. Pregnancies with this type of twins carry the risk of the umbilical cords getting tangled and cutting off the blood supply to one of the twins. Up until 24 weeks, monoamniotic twins have only a 50 percent survival rate.

Two years after a healthy birth, we are delighted to hear that they are doing great. Jillian turned out to be the bold one, while Jenna is more shy. Although they have been seperated surgically but one thing has been a constant since Day 1 — these two are incredibly tight.

A THANKFUL HEART FELT BETTER- WINIFRED OKITIKPI

http://cdn-img.essence.com/sites/default/files/images/2012/11/21/african-american-woman-grateful_240x340_98.jpg

It was a quiet day. Just like every other day for me at that time. I did not have so much activity going on around me as I was either going in or coming out of my house for some reason or the other. The only friend I could call my own was my loyal laptop. I decided to round up my online activities for the day. Turning off my WIFI connection almost made my tummy ache because I knew after then I wouldn't be connected to the internet till the next morning. Knowing the internet was the only place I could play and go on adventurous tours. And then I began to worry about not having a phone. "Gosh! who doesn't have a phone nowadays?" I wondered. I knew I was working on getting a new one but I was just drowned with the thought of not having one at that moment.

As I kept worrying about petty things, I thought about people who had bigger troubles. We all worry about things so much and forget that what they already have is another man's worry. The man with no feet worries about having at least a wheelchair to move with. The man on the wheel chair worries about having a good pair of legs. The man walking down the street worries about having a bicycle. The bicycle man worries about having a car. The sick wants to get well and the healthy ones wants to do body surgeries just to look prettier. The poor wants to get rich, the rich wants to get powerful and the powerful ones want to take over the world. I mean...its insane! Inside the heart of man lies an unending string of worries. Everybody strives to be better yet they forget to hold on for a second, take a good look around them and stay thankful to God for how far or little they have come.

I snapped back to consciousness. I knew where I was coming from and the days I had nothing. And now I was disturbing my pretty head about something so little. No matter the stages I am in life and how much I need to move on, I would never forget how I got here. Its good to sit back and enjoy the moment because someone else wishes to be where I am. Striving for greater things are man's ultimate goal but we should learn to appreciate the things we already have. I closed my eyes, silently counted my blessings and was already thankful for the ones yet to come. Being thankful felt better than worrying. Although I wasn't where I wanted to be but I was thankful for not being where I used to be.

KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARE ANGRY AS THEY SHUT DOWN LOKOJA!

Lokoja

Lokoja, the Kogi State capital was on Thursday shut down by the Students of Kogi State University, leaving many commuters on the expressway stranded. The students were protesting the prolonged closure of their school.

Kogi is a major transit point that links the northern and southern parts of Nigeria.
Lecturers of the university embarked on strike three months ago to protest the non-payment of their salaries.

Government officials said the debt was a backlog from the past administration of Idris Wada. An official said that out of five, they have paid four.
Chairman of the school’s academic staff Union, Daniel Aina had said recently that the strike will be sustained till the last kobo owed is paid.

The government and the School Academic Staff Union are yet to reach an arrangement and the students complain they are made to pay heavily for the disagreement.
